Access for all

In spring 2009, the website of the Swiss Federal Pension Fund, PUBLICA, www.publica.ch, was awarded a certificate for being an accessible website, with the high conformance level "AA". The award was based on tests carried out by "Access for all", the Swiss foundation for technology adapted to people with disabilities.

Recertification was successfully completed in September 2011

The entire website has been found to conform to levels A and AA of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0 (external link). The tests were carried out by the Access for all Foundation (external link) and were conducted in a defined test environment using representative web technologies that support accessibility, namely XHTML, CSS and JavaScript.

The term "accessibility" refers to internet pages which are available to all web users, regardless of any technical or physical limitations. This includes for example, people with impaired sight or motoric difficulties, who rely on special measures or technical assistance in order to have unlimited access to information on the internet.
